Today I...

Love: knitting! Especially learning new knitting techniques
Hate: too much homework, and the stress that comes with it
Miss: laying in the hammock

School is nasty this week, I would rather knit.

Do you realize???

So I was listening to KRCL this morning and one of my all time favorites came on. If you are not familiar with the flaming lips, get familiar! Anyway, song is called Do You Realize and it is the cats meow. Trev and I saw them in Sept of 07 at red rocks in colorado, one of my best memories as of late. *sits here and daydreams

I have my first anatomy test on Tuesday AGH!! Wish me luck!

New topic

I am starting a Love/Hate/Miss (idea stolen from Sandy)

For today,

Love: the flaming lips, krcl
Hate: not having enough free time
Miss: long hours of daylight

I LOVE knitting!

Really, I do. I asked for knitting stuff for Christmas and I took a beginning knitting class which taught me enough to get me off and running. I am making a scarf right now, and it is definitely a learning process. Jessie, if you are reading this, move home and come to the weekly stitch and bitch!

Other than knitting, I have been schooling it up like crazy. I have 10 credits this semster, BUT two of my classes are online, so basically I have no life in the evenings...what else is new? he he

I miss my backyard

I really do, I walked around out there a few days ago and I really miss spending time in the hammock and checking on the progress of the veggies in the garden. Soon enough though, the long warm days will be here! Well I finally got my lazy butt to upload some picutres of our recent home improvements.

First off here are some before and after's of the paint in the bathroom. My what a difference a coat or two of paint can make!

Ok, this is the new color we picked, let me know what you think. I think it turned out quite nice. I'm not sure where the previous owner was going with the orange paint with the slate...

Trev put our new carpet in the week of Christmas, he did a great job and the house feels so much more homie. Homie like walking around barefoot, not like "homie don't play dat."

Oh and Dexter loves sitting on it!

I started school a few weeks ago so I'll just blame my lack of blogging on that. Life is busy busy but good!

Where did the month go??

Wow, December was a really busy month for me and probably everyone else too. Trevor's birthday was on the 17th and it went off really well for someone who despises their birthday. We watched the Jazz and ate pizza and cheesecake (compliments of my sister) and washed it all down with some beerz. MMMM Calories! We had family in town from both sides and I had the last 4 days off work. I was really sick on Christmas Eve and Christmas but I survived. Our carpet arrived earlier than expected and it looks so great. Trevor did a great job, I helped...a little. I'll get pictures up soon of the new paint in the bathroom and the carpet...but we are going to Mexico on Wednesday for a week sooooo it might be awhile. I hope everyone else had a great holiday!

I can't think of a clever title

Yesterday I had my final in anatomy. I studied a bit but I know I am re-taking it so it didn't consume my entire weekend. About 20 minutes into the test the fire alarm goes off! HA! So we all calmly gathered our things (exactly what you aren't supposed to do) and when I got into the hallway it smelled VERY strongly of gas. Long story short we got shuffled into another building for about 20 minutes and then went back and finished. I'm not gonna lie I almost looked at my notes like 3 times but I didn't.

Trevor and I got a little Christmas tree last night! We also got 1 strand of lights and some red ornament ball thingys but I plan on using discarded PBR cans as the main decoration. I totally stole Kenzie's idea shhhh, don't tell her.

Other than that, not a lot has been going on. We painted our bathroom finally, the funky orange is gone and now we just need to finish the trim. We also finally bought our new carpet but it is backordered until the 19th. Boo hoo. I really wanted to have it in before Christmas but oh well.

Novemba is half ova!

Soooo what has been going on since I last checked in with my web log...? Well, the economy is still in the shitter but I luckily still have a job. Gas prices are down and I don't remember them being this low since 2006 (I think). We have a new President (elect)! As for my own little world I have come to accept that I will be taking anatomy again next semester. This bums me out, makes me feel a little like a failure but at the same time I have spoken with some of my classmates in my therapy class and most of them are on the same boat as me. Last night I was able to check out the lab and classrooms that the program uses. It was really nice, they had more space and equipment than most of the clinics I observed at. I'm really hoping to get in next Fall but it is becoming apparent that the money side of things might make that impossible. So I am also trying to gear myself up for not being upset if I have to wait a year to do it. I'm a little worried about banking on student loans as the credit situation in this country doesn't seem to be getting much better. We will see what happens! I was talking to Trevor's dad last night and he said that control is an illusion (which I totally believe) so I am trying to apply that to my current worries and just let the chips fall.

On a brighter note, the weather lately has been really nice and KSL says this weekend is going to be sunny and into the 60s! Woooo, maybe I can rake up the rest of our leaves. I raked up 11 bags last Saturday and my pampered little keyboard hands were hurting. I really love the trees in our yard but now I'm starting to see one of the negative aspects of having SO MANY trees! But they are totally worth it.
